Corporate Services Manager (Governance) (SEL & SWL)

Band 7

Job overview

Are you looking for a corporate governance role? Want to be part of the new SEL/SWL ICB governance clustered team?

We are looking for a band 7 Corporate Services Manager (Governance) to join our team. The Corporate Governance team plays a vital role in ensuring the SEL/SWL ICBs operate with integrity, accountability and transparency. The role will assist in supporting the Lead Corporate Services Manager (Governance) and the professional governance team. Working closely with senior leaders, Board members and system partners, you will help shape and strengthen governance arrangements that support effective decision making, organisational assurance and statutory compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to influence governance across two integrated care systems.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include supporting the Lead Corporate Services Manager (Governance) in ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive corporate governance function including Board support. The role has line management responsbility for other members of the team. You will need strong leadership skills, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to provide expert advice on governance matters. The role will need to promote a positive governance culture, share best practice,  support organisational development and ensure the organisation remains compliant with statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, analytical and capable of influencing across
organisational boundaries whilst managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Working for our organisation

In 2025, the boards of NHS South East London ICB and NHS South West London ICB entered into a clustering arrangement.

This also means that the ICBs will share some teams, who will be working across both organisations. Some teams will also be working across both geographical areas and integrated care systems.

This is a period of change for the NHS. The Government’s 10 Year Health Plan presents an ambitious vision for a future NHS, with emphasis on the three ‘shifts’ – from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from cure to prevention – all underpinning the new neighbourhood health service.

ICBs are also changing, with a clear focus on strategic commissioning and delivering neighbourhood working.

This is an exciting time to work within our ICBs. We currently have the opportunity both to shape the future of our clustered organisations, and to be part of a radical transformation of care for the local people and communities across south London.

Please note as you can only be employed by one ICB, this job description refers to ‘the ‘ICB’, but your role may cover both ICB organisations, and / or geographical areas.

Equality and diversity
The ICB is committed to providing services and employment to a community with an increasing variety of backgrounds. To do this effectively it is essential that we promote equality and embrace diversity and treat everyone with dignity and respect. This includes a focus on building a just culture.
