Job overview

The role entails provision of endoscopy including specialist complex endoscopy.  Flexible working, including some evening sessions, may be required of the post-holder by mutual agreement. The post will involve delivering clinical services across the North West London Hospitals NHS Trust and sessions may be worked on any of the Trust’s hospital sites, i.e. Northwick Park Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital and Ealing Hospital. The base site for St Mark’s Hospital is at Central Middlesex, however the St Mark’s Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service operates at Central Middlesex and Northwick Park.

This is a provisional job plan and will be mutually agreed with the Clinical Director of St. Mark's.

On occasion and as patterns of service provision evolve and change, further rescheduling of clinical sessions may take place following negotiation with the service and clinical director.

Essential criteria
  • Training in general Gastroenterology Wide experience of endoscopy Competent at diagnostic and basic therapeutic OGD and colonoscopy Knowledge of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Up to date in acute medical and gastroenterology including: -Resuscitation -Management of GI Bleeds/ emergency endoscopy Acute gastroenterology Evidence of understanding in Endoscopy GRS Some evidence of Research/Publications academic achievements Broad based presentations Computer skills Evidence of active participation up to date training methodology Evidence of supporting gastroenterology and medical audit
Desirable criteria
