Job overview

Newham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust & provides community-based services for children and young people with mental health problems across Newham. The services are made up of various multi-disciplinary teams including the following teams; Neurodevelopment Team, Adolescent Mental Health Team, Emotional and Behavioral Team, Paediatric Liaison Team and Mental Health Schools Team.

 

At CAMHS we work with children and young people up to the age of 18 year’s old.  We are committed to working in partnership with service users, their families & their social networks to provide treatment to young people suffering from mental health disorders including Depression, Psychosis, Eating Disorders, Self-Harm and Emotional Problems.

Our clinical teams rely on efficient administration systems and processes.  This includes accurate data collection, reporting and efficient electronic administrative systems management.

Main duties of the job

To provide the role of “Front of House” as a receptionist at Newham CAMHS, answering calls and managing queries alongside welcoming young people and their families to York House.

 

To provide general administration to all CAMHS Clinicians and Managers, and their teams.

 

The post holder will be required to work in a busy and demanding environment and should be able to work without direct supervision and to exercise initiative. The ability to multi-task is also essential.

 

The post requires the ability to work on own initiative and to liaise effectively with a broad range of professions and to maintain client confidentiality.

 

To work alongside and to cover, when appropriate, other administration staff across several locations in some instances.

 

The post holder is accountable & responsible for:

·         Providing a comprehensive administrative service including processing all reports, correspondence & documentation.

·         Efficient collection, input & recording of case management data in line with service requirements

·         Identifying and resolving data entry issues

Person specification

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential criteria
  • • English & Math’s GCSE or equivalent
  • • Good standard of written and spoken English
Desirable criteria
  • • NVQ in Administration Certificates
  • • Microsoft applications or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Advanced Administration Skills (e.g., producing reports, letters, minute taking, compiling legal documents, communicating with professionals and clients, etc.)
  • • Good knowledge and experience of the MS Office suite
  • • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience in an NHS/Health Care setting
  • • Experience of setting up administrative systems
  • • Compiling data reports
  • • Health/Social Care patient information systems i.e., RIO

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Teams, Office 365 and OneDrive
  • • Proven ability to manage workload & meet deadlines
