Job overview
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician Leader to shape the future of medicines management and pharmacy workforce development across Luton & Bedfordshire and the wider ELFT Pharmacy Service.
As the Pharmacy Technician Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high‑quality medicines management for inpatient services while driving Trust‑wide excellence in pharmacy technician education, training and professional development. This senior post blends operational leadership, clinical impact, and strategic workforce development — offering a unique platform for an ambitious, forward‑thinking technician to influence practice at scale.

This role sits at the heart of ELFT’s commitment to delivering outstanding patient care, empowering its workforce, and continually improving medicines safety. If you are passionate about developing people, advancing technical pharmacy services, and driving innovation, this role offers the scope, support and visibility to make a meaningful difference.
Main duties of the job
This senior post requires exceptional organisational and leadership capability, underpinned by extensive experience in delivering high‑quality hospital and community pharmacy services. The role demands a forward‑thinking leader with a clear passion for advancing pharmacy technical services, departmental education, training, and workforce development, ensuring a culture of excellence across all pharmacy functions, including being the Educational Programme Director for Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT).
