Job overview
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is committed to improving the experiences and outcomes of autistic people and people with a learning disability through the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
The Oliver McGowan Co-Trainer will work as part of a collaborative Greater Manchester training programme alongside Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, partner NHS trusts, local authorities and wider health and social care organisations. The post holder will bring either lived experience of autism or learning disability, or significant experience of supporting people with lived experience, to co-deliver high-quality training alongside Facilitating Trainers.
The role will play a vital part in ensuring that the voices, experiences and perspectives of autistic people and people with a learning disability are central to the delivery of training. Through sharing experiences, facilitating discussion and supporting learning activities, the Co-Trainer will help health and social care staff better understand the needs of autistic people and people with a learning disability and the impact that person-centred care can have on people's lives.
The post holder will work across Pennine Care and partner organisations as part of a collaborative delivery model, helping to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training across Greater Manchester and the wider health and care system.
