As a senior orthopaedic physiotherapist you will gain experience working in our elective orthopaedic unit.  You will work with the wider MDT to provide high quality care .  In return you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by deputising for the team leader.  You will have:

  • Opportunities to gain experience at a senior level.
  • Exposure to elective care patient caseload on both the in-patient and day case units
  • Full support from the Team Leader,  Physiotherapy Operational and Professional Leads and peers

  • Perform specialist assessment and treatment of patients undergoing elective orthopaedic procedures and develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support to lead a team of  Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and working closely with the MDT.

You will be expected to provide some  day-to-day management of the team  and caseload in the absence of the Team Leader, as well as develop and supervise other more junior staff/assistants and students.

The Physiotherapy service is working towards a 7 day model and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekday hours, weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary. This is a full-time post, however, the options for working hours will be discussed.
