An exciting opportunity has opened for a Band 7 Team Lead Occupational Therapist to work within the clinical specialty of Stroke at Fairfield General Hospital. This post is suitable for an OT already in a Band 7 role or an experienced Band 6 OT, looking to make their next career step. We would welcome you to join our dynamic and supportive team, allowing you to expand your knowledge, skills and expertise in this complex but highly rewarding area. If you are passionate about making a difference and supporting continuous learning and development, then this is the team for you. We are a hugely supportive team and place great emphasis on staff wellbeing to enable you to be at your best in work.
Main duties of the job
Within this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled Occupational Therapists, working closely with the MDT based on the Acute and Rehab Stroke wards.
You will take a lead role in the planning, delivery, and development of the Stroke team at Fairfield General Hospital.
You will work as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist knowledge, skills, and experience in assessing and managing patients on your caseload and in the facilitation of safe and timely discharges.
As a Band 7 you will receive support from your peers and from the Band 8 Operational & Professional Therapy Lead. You will be expected to provide supervision to more junior staff and students.
You will also be expected to support the Operational & Professional Therapy Lead with clinical governance action plans and service development/implementation
The service operates over 7 days and therefore there is an expectation to be flexible in terms of working patterns. Some weekend working and bank holidays are required as part of the role and extra hours if necessary. This is a full-time post, however, the options for working hours will be discussed with the successful applicant.
