Service/Ward/Department Summary:

The Hope and Horizon Units are based within the grounds of Fairfield Hospital in Bury. The inpatient CAMHS units are part of the Healthy Young Minds Directorate in Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. We are a leading provider of general adolescent mental health care for young people aged between 13 and 18 years old who require specialist inpatient care.

The Horizon unit is a 10 bedded mixed sex ward. Having been rated as outstanding at the most recent CQC inspection and being accredited with the Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS, we pride ourselves in excelling in the care provided to young people and their families.

Role Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for the post holder to continue to build on the excellent reputation of the Inpatient Service. The successful post holder will support and provide efficient and effective daily leadership and management to the staff, working within the team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. The post holder will be required to provide leadership and expert clinical practice, working collaboratively with others to ensure delivery of high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities of the Post:

The post holder is accountable for their ward and will:

•Promote and monitor safe and effective practice

•Provide effective leadership and management

•Contribute to the delivery of the service and the organisations objectives

•Enhance the service user and carer’s experience

Key Requirements of the Person Specification:

•RMN/Registered Nurse (Mental Health)

•RMN demonstrable experience at Band 6 level in an inpatient setting some of which will have ideally been within a CAMHS setting.

•An understanding of mental health issues affecting young people and families and associated needs.

•Ability to work under pressure in a demanding clinical environment

•Evidence of maintaining and monitoring standards which have enhanced the client experience of care

•Willingness to contribute to a Directorate on call rota.
