We are looking for a highly skilled, compassionate assistant psychologist to join us in Pennine Care NHS foundation trust CAMHS

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

We are looking for an assistant psychologist committed to these values and with a passion for working with children and their families to join us and work with the consultant clinical psychologist and lead for psychological therapies in the CAMHS care hub to continue to develop psychological therapy services across the care hub.

You will support the psychological therapies lead by assisting in the delivery and reporting on the psychological therapies training programme and the CAMHS psychological therapies services initiatives and supporting the care hub wide psychological therapies group with their projects and reporting on these to the chief psychological professions officer.

There will be opportunities for some supervised clinical work with children and families also.

Qualifications

  • An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology. Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

Experience

  • Experience as a Psychology Assistant

Knowledge

  • An understanding of the difficulties of children with neurodevelopmental conditions and / or mental health problems and the needs of their carers
  • An understanding of psychology applied to health care
  • Knowledge of child development

  • Evidence of ability to design and evaluate research projects relevant to Clinical Psychology

Skills

  • High level of communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues in a way that addresses psychological resistance
  • Ability to devise observational measures
  • An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines. An ability to interact with children with mental health problems / disabilities and their families
  • Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively
