Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust are expanding their Adult ADHD and Autism service and are looking for  passionate, skilled, and motivated Neurodevelopment Practitioners to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a service that supports the adult patients of Stockport GP practices who are seeking assessment for ADHD and ASD. Through high-quality neurodevelopmental assessment, intervention, and ongoing support. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment that values collaboration, evidence-based practice, and person-centred care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of the ADHD / ASD service.

Under appropriate supervision, undertake ADHD titration and annual reviews including physical health checks (including venepuncture and ECGs) and discussion of ongoing medication issues or concerns with the patient 

Complete clinical and appointment-related administration and record keeping

The post holder is responsible for providing assessment and formulation for adults presenting with ADHD / ASD and provide evidence based interventions.

 Undertake needs-led stratification assessments to identify needs, support patients to access appropriate advice, guidance and education relating to ADHD and ASD and outline possible intervention and support options

We are happy to discuss flexible working but current only offer clinics from Mon-Fri 9-5pm. If the successful candidate wanted to work flexibly there would be an expectation that they would work on a Thursday and other days by negotiation at offer stage dependant on service need

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To ensure high quality assessment of adults referred to the ADHD / ASD service. 
• To provide or provide access to a range of quality psychotherapeutic interventions in 
accordance with individual assessed need.  This will include the assessment planning 
implementation and evaluation of a variety of therapeutic approaches either alone or as 
a member of the MDT. 
• To deliver therapeutic input to adults referred to the team and provide carers with 
relevant information. 
• Work as a co-worker where appropriate with other members of the MDT. 
• To be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake case management 
responsibilities within the caseload. 
• To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the adult and others in line with 
Pennine care policies, procedures and protocols. 
• To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual care packages and 
to promote awareness of adult mental health issues within these agencies. 
• Undertake liaison and joint work with other professionals outside of the M|DT 
• Ensure collection of relevant information required by Pennine Care NHS Foundation 
Trust

• To routinely monitor effectiveness of clinical work by use of Routine Outcome Measures 
(ROM) and where outcomes are not improving for adults to engage in clinical review via 
peer review meetings and supervision.  
Managerial and Administrative  
• To attend team, clinical, business and other meetings as required. 
• To manage own workload and time effectively. 
• To undertake accurate record keeping. 
• To provide and enter data for local information management systems. 
• To contribute to peer supervision within the adult ADHS/ASD service. 
• To give and receive regular clinical management supervision and to participate in 
appraisal. 
• To participate in the development of education and training programmes. 
• To maintain own education and awareness of current developments within the service.  
• In conjunction with the Clinical Lead/Primary Care Service Manager ensure that 
appropriate supervision is available and attended for any specialist psychotherapeutic 
treatment intervention offered by the post holder such as CBT, CAT or family therapy.

Essential criteria
  • RMN / RGN
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in working with service users with ASD / ADHD

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in community mental health services.  Professional involvement with the users of mental health services.  Experience if case management of adults.  Experience on multi agency working.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of relating to adults in a group or community setting.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of mental health issues in adults.  Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to adults.  Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with adults.  Knowledge of evidenced based intervention and pharmacology.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments.  Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions with this client group.  Ability to work well with a team.  Ability to manage a caseload effectively.  Ability to work independently.  Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a clinical context.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of teaching, training and supervision.  Experience of planning and carrying out group/individual work.

Work Related Circumstances

Essential criteria
  • Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs  Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies  Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
