Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Administration Team at Laureate House on the Andersen Ward Mother & Baby Unit. Your duties will include supporting patients and their relatives on the Ward as well as providing a comprehensive administrative support to the  team of doctors, nurses, support workers and other professionals involved in patient care.

The post holder will provide an efficient and professional service ensuring quality service to all users, their families and professionals contacting the Ward. The post holder may also be required to cover other wards within Laureate House, to provide support during absence of other administrators as well as support the Perinatal Outreach Team and Perinatal Community Team. 

 

Main duties of the job

To be an initial point of contact for the service and respond to all enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner, and, to provide a responsive, comprehensive clerical and administrative service to the multi-disciplinary team, in order to support them to provide an efficient and effective service for the benefit of the service user group and their families.

Perfect candidate will have a flexible approach in providing administration support to the teams working with a client group with mental health problems. There will be client and carer telephone contact and also, face-to-face contact on daily basis therefore, good communication skills are essential.

The post holder may also be required to cover other wards within Laureate House, to provide support during absence of other administrators as well as support the Perinatal Outreach Team and Perinatal Community Team.

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with a range of people in person and over the telephone
  • Experience of carrying out administrative duties to complete a piece of work in a methodical, efficient and timely manner to meet a set deadline
  • Maths/English GCSE grade C
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working as part of a team in order to achieve a shared vision/goal
  • Experience working in an admin role in a clinical environment

Education /Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel etc)
  • GCSE Maths/English grade C
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrable experience
