This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of Dermatology services in a forward-thinking, research-active and patient-centred department. You will join a friendly, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality outpatient, procedural and specialist dermatology care to a diverse local population.
The Dermatology service at Wythenshawe Hospital is well-established and benefits from strong links with community services and specialist centres across MFT. The department enjoys excellent nurse specialist support, including  dermatology surgery, phototherapy, and biologic therapy. There are active research opportunities, with access to clinical trials and collaboration with the University of Manchester.
 
Applicants must:
  • Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Possess CCT in Dermatology (or be within 6 months of achieving CCT at interview date)
  • Demonstrate broad experience in general dermatology
  • Show commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork, and service improvement
 

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will contribute to:
  • General dermatology outpatient clinics
  • Skin cancer services, including two-week-wait clinics
  • Minor ops and dermatological surgery (depending on experience)
  • Multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Teaching and supervision of trainees, specialty doctors, and medical students
  • Service development and quality improvement within the dermatology department
Subspecialty interests (e.g., psoriasis, inflammatory dermatoses, phototherapy, contact dermatitis, surgery) are welcomed and can be incorporated into the final job plan depending on departmental needs and applicant expertise.
