We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individuals to join our Team at Manchester Foundation Trust who will have the opportunity to rotate between sites to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Services both in a large tertiary centre, district general hospital and the community settings.

Main duties of the job

Independently practices with a high level of skill and autonomy at advanced specialist level within echocardiography.

Independently practices with a high level of skill and autonomy a wide range of other cardiac physiology procedures.

Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the advanced specialist field and other areas when required.

Actively participates in practical & theoretical training & development of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals from inside and outside of the organisation.

Participates in cardiac & associated medical research as integral to the role.

Undertakes any other duties which are deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Principal Cardiac Physiologist.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science MSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science or Equivalent Experience and qualifying long service
  • BSE Accreditation
Desirable criteria
  • Voluntary Registration with ACHCS or HCPC
  • Teaching qualification (T4T, D32)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Practical & formal teaching of Cardiac Physiologists and other HCPs
  • Multi-disciplinary team work
Desirable criteria
  • Tertiary cardiac physiology practise
  • Invasive cardiac physiology practise
  • Participation in cardiac research

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Competent to practise a wide range of cardiac physiology diagnostics and interventions.
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to acquire & communicate highly complex knowledge in challenging environments
Desirable criteria
  • Management skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Advanced specialist knowledge of Cardiac Imaging
