Exciting opportunity in lung cancer screening hub team @wythenshawe Hospital .The below indicates the main competencies required of the post which may be reviewed in light of the experience and developments within the service .Any review will be taken in conjunction with the post holder.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing advice . work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team .
Provide Nurse led clinics
Ability to provide health promotion and smoking cessation advice .
Formulation of individualized care pathways with the patient and the carerer
Work along with the triage consultant in the hub
Request Diagnostic tests for the patients
Be an advocate for the patients through their journey
Outcoming the scan results and do the telephone calls to the patients.
Knowledge of the lone working policy .
Awareness of policies and procedures for MFT and community services in relation to working practices .

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Evidence of relevant post
- qualification study at postgraduate level or equivalent knowledge.
Desirable criteria
- ECDL
- Teaching/mentorship
Experience
Essential criteria
- Nurse – Minimum 3 years at Band 5 in the relevant setting
- Evidence of working independently
- Participating in audit/patient surveys
- Evidence of managing within a clinical area
- Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary / interdisciplinary team.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Provide high levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical practice, care and programme management, clinical practice development and research.
- Analytical and judgemental skills
- Planning – straight forward issues
