Job overview
We are seeking a motivated and committed Housekeeper to join our 24/7 housekeeping team. This is an exciting and key role in which you will work closely with the nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical department. You will take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained and liaise with the domestic supervisors and staff to ensure cleaning is of a high standard and inline with Infection Control Policies.
You will undertake the monitoring of stock levels for the ward reporting to the Lead Housekeepers for ordering.
You must be able to empathise with and consider patients’ families as you go about your duties. You will have an organised and positive approach to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out in a timely, effective manner. Able to cope well under pressure, you will utilise excellent communication and team skills.
Main duties of the job
Care and support for parents, Stocking of clinical rooms, assist with the stowing of deliveries and maintaining storerooms, Clean unit equipment complying with Infection Control Policy such as incubators, infusion/intraavenous equipment, preparing clinical spaces for new admissions, liaise with other departments such as Medical Engineering , Labs etc.
