We have a fantastic opportunity in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) and Managed Clinical Services (MCS) for an inspirational Team Manager. Are you an experienced learning disability nurse with a specific interest in Children and Young People? Would you like to co-lead and develop a unique team and service within the acute hospital setting?
The Focused Support Team support delivery of high quality care to children and young people with learning disability, autism or both and mental health within the acute hospital setting. You will lead on providing guidance, teaching and specialist knowledge to patients, carers and staff in conjunction with promoting the needs and rights of children and young people with mental health illness, learning disability, neurodiversity or both.
As Team Manager the successful applicant has a key leadership and management role within the organisation. Alongside the Team Manager for Mental Health, you will be a specialist advisor across the hospital and build relationships within clinical settings and with external agencies, providing leadership and expertise to enable and ensure assessment, planning, evaluation and delivery of safe and effective, patient centred care.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in a Team Leader role
- Line Management experience
- Evidence of good organisational and planning skills
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
- Implementation of audit/research recommendations
- Experience of change management
- Knowledge of local and national issues within Nursing Awareness of budgetary control
- Experience of working across organisational boundaries and with multidisciplinary teams including and external partners
- Understanding and knowledge of current legalisation relating to speciality
Desirable criteria
