Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join  the Homecare team at Manchester Foundation Trust. Our homecare service is one of the largest in the country with over 13,000 patients registered.

This post is ideal for SATOs and MMAs looking to take then next step in their career.

You will support the delivery of a patient focused Homecare Service and assist with the promotion of cost effective use of medicine. Under the direction of the Homecare technical team  you will work closely with the MDT across various specialties. Dealing with patients and carers on a regular basis you must be able to conduct conversations tactfully and sensitively. You must act with professionalism at all times,  ensuring collaborative working to deliver a safe and effective service.

We are looking for an excellent team player with  who is flexible and self-motivated . A working knowledge of hospital pharmacy and or homecare is desirable but not essential as a comprehensive training program is available.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • The ability to work accurately and methodically
  • Excellent communication skills both via telephone and email.
  • Good  IT skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and use to your own initiative to meet deadlines

This post will be based at the ORC site with a requirement to work on other sites as part of a rota.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Processing Homecare prescriptions
  • Dealing with queries from  patients, carers and homecare providers via emails and telephones 
  • Liaising with clinical teams to ensure the homecare service is working as it should 
  • Logging complaints and incidents 
  • Investigating invoice queries and checking supplier statements
