As a Finance function we have been through a period of significant transition and are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner to help deliver our new vision, culture, and be a key leader in our team.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.
The MRI was formed on 1st October 2017 following the merger of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM). We provide a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services CART, Gene Therapy, BMT’s and Renal Transplants.

Main duties of the job
The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing high quality financial information support and advice to the Hospital, thereby assisting the Hospital and Unit directors to achieve their financial objectives. The post holder will be required to work closely with clinical staff.
This exciting opportunity will give the successful candidate the responsibility to:
- Act as the Hospitals Financial Advisor with the objective of ensuring that the Hospital achieves financial balance in accordance with the Trust’s corporate financial objectives.
- Ensure that key relationships are developed with the Hospital Directors, Clinical Service Unit Triumvirate teams, Clinicians and others as required, with an emphasis on working in partnership towards mutual objectives.
- Engage services thereby improving visibility and enhancing business knowledge
- Provide Budgetary Control and Financial Advice in conjunction with the MRI Hospital Finance Director
- Ensure high quality financial advice is provided to all Management Teams to enable the delivery of the Hospital’s financial objectives. In pursuit of this objective, to be innovative and proactive in the provision of financial information to managers, and to develop the quality and timeliness of financial information and support provided by the Financial Management Team

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- CCAB Qualified Accountant, with evidenced on-going Continuing Professional Development, or AAT qualified with very significant relevant Financial Management experience
- ECDL or equivalent IT Skills.
Desirable criteria
- MBA or similar
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the NHS, its infrastructure and partner organisations.
- Understanding of the wider NHS Management and Modernisation Agenda.
- Understanding of the NHS and Foundation Trust Financial Regime.
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary, complex environment.
- Experience in leading change management regimes in a complex environment.
- Experience in leading change management regimes
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the acute sector
- NHS General Management experience
