The ideal candidate will bring recent clinical and management experience and be well-versed in the Quality Assurance standards essential for delivering exceptional care. In this leadership role, you will support the management and development of the colposcopy service, ensuring it maintains the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient care.
You will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, striving to improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience at every stage. Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the colposcopy service at The Northern Care Alliance, ensuring seamless and high-quality patient care
- Maintain adherence to national standards for patient safety and clinical practice, including preparing and reporting on national audits and reports
- Collaborate with the Clinical Lead Colposcopist and the wider team to support the development and delivery of the cervical screening service, aligning with NHS England Service specifications
- Oversee the effective and efficient operational management of the Colposcopy Service on a day-to-day basis, ensuring smooth service delivery
- Provide senior clinical leadership, expert advice, and ongoing support to the nursing team and the broader multi-professional team, facilitating the delivery of safe, compassionate, and effective care
- Demonstrate extensive theoretical and practical experience in clinical skills required to run independent nurse-led clinics
- Offer clinical and professional guidance at Directorate, Divisional, and Trust levels, supporting continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery

Essential criteria
- BSCCP Accreditation
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
Desirable criteria
- Non-medical prescribing
- Advanced Practitioner
Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience working independently as a Colposcopist
- Managing a defined case load of patients
- Clinical Reasoning Skills
- Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
Desirable criteria
- Teaching colleagues from other professions
- Negotiation skills
- Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
Experience
Essential criteria
- Advanced Level Clinical Practice Experience
