We are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to support and enhance our technical teams based at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
Your role will involve the dispensing and labelling of a wide range of medicines for in-patients, out-patients and discharges, working at ward level as part of a discharge team, greeting patients and staff at the pharmacy reception.
Main duties of the job
You will need good communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner. You must be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focused service.
Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, plus you will be required to study for and gain the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
This is a mandatory qualification for this post and therefore you must satisfy apprenticeship funding to apply for this role.
Candidates with the NVQ2 qualification in pharmacy services and the relevant pharmacy experience will be appointed to the band 3 post.
There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours working including late nights, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
