Main duties of the job

Join Our Urology Team – Lead with Compassion and Expertise!

Based at North Manchester General Hospital, but with the opportunity to work across various locations within Pennine Acute NHS Trust, this role offers a chance to make a real difference in patient care.

Main Purpose of the Job:
To deliver outstanding, patient-centred care to individuals with benign urological conditions. You will take responsibility for managing Urology patients, leading independent nurse-led clinics, and providing specialist advice to colleagues, patients, and their families.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of Urology patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality care.
  • Run independent nurse-led clinics, showcasing your clinical expertise and autonomy.
  • Offer specialist Urological nursing advice to Trust staff, patients, and relatives, guiding them through their treatment options and care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the Trust to ensure seamless, effective care for every patient.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin
  • Adult Nursing Qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Degree level study
  • Evidence of further study in Urology

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Experience in Male and Female catheterisation
  • Experience in delivering Intravesical therapies
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in carrying out Urodynamics procedure

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Subtantial years post nursing qualification
  • Experience of managing urology patients
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of urology benign / cancer related procedures
