Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills to lead the delivery of GMMH’s Community Transformation Programme. 

Aligned to the NHS Ten year health plan, the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive change to the way the Trust works with its partners to deliver care, providing integrated mental health services that are inclusive and accessible, supporting people’s mental health needs and enabling them to live well in their community. 

The postholder will lead a large, multi-disciplinary team, to implement the agreed transformed community care model, whilst needing to flex the approach to account for locality differences in demand and staffing.  This will involve working with operational and clinical leads from across the Trust, and working closely with people with lived experience, carers, staff representatives and commissioners.

Not only would the individual need to be expert at managing complex large programmes of work, influencing people in different organisations (local authorities and ICB) but would need a good understanding of mental health community services.

Main duties of the job

·       Lead the design, planning, and execution of GMMH’s community transformation programme, including exiting of a number of Section 75 agreements with local authorities.

·       Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including commissioners, operational and clinical teams and partner organisations.  This involves representing GMMH as the senior responsible officer, with responsibility for delivery of the transformed community model of care.

·       Effectively engage service users and service user groups in the development of proposals.

·       Provide expert advice and assurance to senior stakeholders and GMMH’s Board of Directors.

·       Effectively management delivery team to ensure delivery of milestones within agreed timescales and budgets, managing risks as necessary.

·       Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and collaboration.

·       Ensure appropriate training, development, and performance management.

·       Represent the Trust at regional and national forums.

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in leading large-scale transformation programmes in healthcare.
  • Significant experience in working with variety of stakeholders including service users, carers, staff colleagues, delivery partners and commissioners within programmes
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of mental health community services
