Are you an experienced Non Medical Prescriber looking to join an outstanding CQC rated CAMHS. We are seeking to appoint a committed  Practitioner to join our experienced and highly motivated team at the multi-disciplinary mental health care team, within the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Salford is a diverse and exciting city at the forefront of many developments in the delivery of child mental health services. Salford CAMHS is part MFT CAMHS, a large multi-site service provided by Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust, which also includes the services for Manchester and Trafford. MFT CAMHS has been rated Outstanding by the CQC on 2 consecutive inspections (the last in 2018), which reflects the breadth, depth and quality of the services we provide. We are the only CAMHS nationally to have been recognised in this way.

Salford CAMHS offers a range of evidence based interventions across a spectrum of need from a community base in the heart of Salford. This post will be a key lead in developing the Advanced Practitioner role to compliment the medical team and the wider MDT  at Salford.

You must have experience as CAMH clinician . You must be highly motivated, proactive and flexible.  High level skills in planning, prioritising and innovation are essential in this exciting, diverse and challenging role.

This post is a full time fixed term position for 12 months, that will be reviewed and the potential to extend to a permanent position. Candidates who wish to work part time will be eligible to be considered for the post. In the event of the latter, job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with departmental consultant colleagues

The post hold will be a qualified Nurse  with significant experience in teaching and specialist knowledge of the issues in Children’s  Mental Health relating to Non-Medical Prescribing.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in supporting development and clinical coaching and possess a sound working knowledge of best practice guidance. The successful applicant will be familiar with policy development methods and contribute to audits against current standards for Non-Medical prescribing. 

The main focus of the role will be to increase staff knowledge, skills and confidence, promoting evidenced based practice and prescription security. Work with  Service Manager and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and  the CAMHS  Non-Medical Prescribing team  to encourage professional updates and lead evidence based practice. Where additional issues are identified you will work with Team Leaders to develop a learning package and support the practice of individuals and the wider service.
