Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Coder to join our Northern Care Alliance Clinical Coding Team.

Are you a dedicated accredited clinical coder who has a passion for generating high-quality data that supports our wide range of clinical services? Do you enjoy managing your own workload and collaborating with like-minded individuals?  If so, we want you!

We are looking for candidates with clinical coding experience across specialties in an acute setting and will hold the National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC).

The post holder requires excellent communication, organisation skills and to be able to work as part of a team to deliver timely and accurate coded data to meet the Trusts deadlines.

We have the ability to offer hybrid working with a mix of office and at home working. The is via the use of electronic systems while also maintaining the need for case note and paper coding on site. The candidate will work for Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and will be  based at either Bury, Oldham, Rochdale or Salford.

We have a focus on progression and promoting from within the team so opportunities can and do arise.

Main duties of the job

The Coding Team is a skilled team with an excellent reputation that ensures complete and accurate coding of Trust activity. We have an in-house Audit, Training and Coded Data and Standards Assurance Team to support in your development.

While the candidate will have daily duties and responsibilities, the spectrum of work may be broad across the Department. 

To provide an efficient and high-quality clinical coding service by ensuring accuracy within the interpretation of descriptions of patient diagnoses and procedural events using the (ICD-10) International Classification of Diseases and the (OPCS) Classification of Interventions and Procedure (OPCS-4) to carry out the coding function.
