Job overview

We are excited to be able to offer this 12 month (part-time) Fixed Term Senior Assistant Psychologist post based at Salford Royal Hospital (part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust).

Main duties of the job

You will assist with assessments, formulations, and interventions for clients referred to the Department of Neuropsychology.  You will also hold responsibilities for maintaining patient databases and assisting in audit and service evaluation.

Person specification

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Undergraduate Psychology degree with eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a clinical psychology or neuropsychology context
  • Psychological knowledge and skills developed through personal experience
  • Direct experience with people who present with cognitive, behavioural, or emotional difficulties (in any setting)
  • Knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusivity and applying this to a healthcare setting
  • Lived experience of membership with a group/identity that is currently under-represented within Clinical Psychology
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy and experience with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Registration / Qualfifications

Essential criteria
  • Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Honours Degree in Psychology (2:1 minimum)
