This is an exciting opportunity to join the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust as the National Clival Chordoma / Chondrosarcoma MDT Co-ordinator, a newly created post supporting the delivery of a national specialist service.

Following the awarding of the National Clival Chordoma / Chondrosarcoma MDT to the North West Neurosurgery Network, this role will ensure the effective coordination, governance, and delivery of the National MDT , bringing together multidisciplinary expertise from across the UK.

You will play a pivotal role in managing the administrative and operational aspects of the MDT, ensuring that all cases are scheduled, recorded, and actioned in line with national standards, NHS England commissioning requirements, and governance frameworks.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of a high-profile national specialist service hosted by one of the leading neuroscience centres in the UK.

Main duties of the job

The National Clival Chordoma / Chondrosarcoma MDT Co-ordinator will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a high-quality, standardised, and patient-centred service across England for patients requiring complex skull base care. You will be responsible for the organisation, governance, and coordination of the National Clival Chordoma / Chondrosarcoma MDT, ensuring timely case discussions, accurate data capture, and seamless communication between referring centres, specialist teams, and national oversight structures.

Working in partnership with clinical leads, specialist surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and administrative colleagues, you will oversee the scheduling, preparation, and documentation of MDT meetings, ensuring that each case is reviewed in line with national clinical pathways and service specifications. You will act as the central liaison point for all stakeholders, providing expert administrative and governance support, and ensuring adherence to national standards for timeliness, documentation, and outcome reporting.

This is a highly autonomous role requiring exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex, multi-centre communication pathways. You will work collaboratively within a national network, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient care for patients.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Very good standard of education to at least a grade C GCSE
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Training & Experience

  • Experience of working in a very busy office / role
