Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist - Spinal Injuries

Band 7

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Occupational Therapist with a passion for Spinal Cord Injury to join our friendly and supportive Greater Manchester Spinal Cord Injury Outreach Team.

You will work within a highly skilled and motivated MDT including Physiotherapists, Spinal Cord Injury Nurse, Assistant Practitioner, Spinal Cord Injury Psychologist and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Consultant.

Although you will be based at Salford Care Organisation, as a Greater Manchester service you will be expected to support off site visits and reviews with other MDT members.

This is a unique therapy role in that you have the opportunity to work in acute, rehab, community, and outpatient settings, providing and supporting the development of assessment and/or treatment plans for the more complex Spinal Cord Injured individuals.

This outreach role also provides you with the opportunity to teach and share expert knowledge to the wide network of treating therapists and nursing colleagues that manage this patient group, supporting their development and improving service quality. Professional support and development are available via the OT Neurorehab services.

As we are still a young service, you will contribute to ongoing service development and auditing of our service.

We encourage visits and welcome any questions you may have.
