Job overview

  The Norther car alliance Mortuary Service is made up of the The Royal Oldham Hospital Mortuary Department is a newly built and innovatively designed mortuary providing comprehensive Mortuary, Post-mortem Services to the four hospitals of the Trust, Community deaths for the Manchester North Coroner, Forensic service for the Greater Manchester Coroners, the Home Office.

 The Salford Royal is a newly built innovatively and innovatively designed mortuary providing comprehensive Mortuary, Post-mortem Services for the Salford Care Organisation and the Salford community deaths for the Bolton Coroner. Neurology postmortem service for the Greater Manchester Coroners, the Home Office

 Both departments are HTA licensed; and are UKAS accredited. 

Main duties of the job

You will work as a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technicians in the Trust Mortuary Services.  You will rotate between both Mortuary Departments. You  will be proficient in the use of Mortuary and Post-mortem equipment, bec proficient in dissection techniques, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed, Quality Control and Quality Assurance is performed.  You will also perform basic mortuary and post-mortem tasks and use the department computer system.
