Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Stockport Talking Therapies Team for an experienced administrator to join our dedicated team.

To provide high quality administrative support ensuring that the highest standards are maintained in line with the Trust’s policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

·         To receive and deal with all incoming telephone calls and take messages as appropriate in a professional, polite and efficient, in a manner that is consistent with Trust policies and procedures whilst presenting a positive image of the service

  •  Ensure priority referrals are processed within a timely manner adhering to service policy and procedures at all times.
  •  Take a key role in managing waiting lists and allocating patients to appropriate therapists.
  •  Ensure accurate recording and updating of data systems, both manual and computerised and respond to requests for reports from both local and national systems.
  •  You must be confident in the use of a range of computer applications,  including Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Word.
  •  Assist the triage team by ensuring referrals are inputted and all relevant documentation uploaded from various data systems within strict timescales.  This will also include stringent checking to ensure accurate and up to date information is provided.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in administration with experience to NVQ 3 Level
  • Proven experience of working within a busy office environment. Competent in the use of IT applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Outlook and Word Processing. Working with the general public in a sensitive, confidential and non-judgemental manner Excellent interpersonal skills whilst working with a wide range of groups
  • Data protection Act, policies and procedures
  • Highly motivated with excellent organisational skills and an ability to see tasks through to completion ensuring deadlines are met. Ability to work and communicate both as part of a team and on one’s own initiative. Ability to prioritise own workload. Ability to manage own stress levels, taking full advantage of supervision and guidance. Take responsibility for own work performance and understand boundaries. Keep up to date with own learning and development including mandatory training.
  • Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies Have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work across different locations Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Desirable criteria
  • Keyboard skills, RSA level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within the NHS organisation would be advantageous though not essential. Paris trained would be an advantage though not essential as training can be given.
  • Understanding of Mental Health Services
  • Use of a car or access to a means of mobility would be advantageous to enable transport to other work venues.
