Job overview
We currently have a vacancy for a part time Practitioner within the Physical Health & Treatment Team in Stockport.
The post is based at Stepping Hill Hospital, but will involve working throughout Stockport.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will hold the role of the Physical Health & Treatment Team Practitioner and will be part of a multidisciplinary team who administers anti-psychotic medication, offers the treatment of ECT and monitors the physical health of patients open to secondary mental health services.
The post holder will be based across multiple sites, promoting continuity of care and effective communication regarding the treatment and support for patients under the care of secondary care mental health services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Current/active registration with professional regulatory body
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship qualification
- Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of relevant post registration practice
- Clinical Experience within the NHS
- Experience of working with patients with complex Mental Health Needs
Desirable criteria
- Previous Experience of working with Depot & Clozapine Clinics and ECT Suites
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- High Level of understanding of Severe Mental Illness (SMI)
- Knowledge of treatment and interventions appropriate for individuals with acute mental health needs
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the Mental Health Act processes and the Mental Capacity Act
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of current policy and guidance in relation to the development of Mental Health Services
- Knowledge of current policy and guidance in relation to Physical Health Monitoring within Mental Health Services
- Specialist knowledge of treatment interventions used within SMI
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Ability to complete Physical Health checks or willing to complete training
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage own time, prioritise workload and work to deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Venepuncture trained, or willing to complete
- Ability to use PocHi Machine or willing to complete training
