Job overview

Outpatient Physiotherapist - Band 6 - 37.5 hours - Permanent 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and self-motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Integrated  Outpatient Therapy  service based at Stepping Hill Hospital.

The role will involve assessment and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions for both adult and paediatric patients referred via Surgery, ED and GP services.

Main duties of the job

 The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well both autonomously and as part of the team. Evidence of of experience of working within an Outpatient  Physiotherapy environment is essential and previous NHS experience is desirable. The postholder will be expected to work independently and relevant recent CPD is essential. You will be responsible for managing your own patient caseload within a supportive and experienced team and there will also be the opportunity to lead a variety of rehabilitation gym based sessions, supervise assistants and students. You will be expected to contribute to service development initiatives and be involved in regular audits. Existing skills can be further developed and consolidated  through attendance at  regular monthly in-service training, peer review and clinical supervision. We have an established appraisal system with which to actively support your Continued Professional Development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

·         If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

·         In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • State Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of continual professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of CSP
  • Evidence of CPD postgraduate learning related to physical/psychological health
  • Awareness of relevant specialist interest groups

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and application of standardised assessments for specific conditions.
  • Knowledge of therapy outcome measures for specific conditions
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Nice Guidance, current research and recommended practice
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.

  • Previous experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist and Post registration experience in speciality
