Senior Clinical Fellow/ ST3+ equivalent - Paediatrics
1 in 10 full shift (with 1A banding) Employing Authority – Stockport NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for an enthusiastic ST3+ equivalent paediatrician to become part of the team in Stockport.. The paediatric department in Stockport is a busy general paediatric department. Based at Stepping Hill Hospital, the post holder will work in acute paediatrics, assessing children in the Emergency department and on the Paediatric Assessment Unit. Duties also include ward rounds of the paediatric ward and care of patients in the Paediatric High Dependency Unit. The post holder will also work on the Level 2 neonatal unit conducting ward rounds, attending high risk deliveries and providing support to the postnatal wards. ST3+ equivalent trainees and Senior LEDs also undertake S47 assessments. There are 2 hot week consultants, one for paediatrics and one for neonates and safeguarding so all trainees and locally employed doctors are very well supported in the range of their duties.
Main duties of the job
This post is based at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport and covers duties in acute paediatrics, assessing children in the Emergency department and on the Paediatric Assessment Unit. Ward Rounds and care of patients in Paediatric HDU plus the in-patient ward. Duties also include cover for the neonatal unit, ward rounds, attending high risk deliveries and providing support to the post natal wards. Senior LEDs also undertake S47 assessments. These are well supported by the hot week consultant on call.
There is opportunity to gain outpatient experience for developing skills which supports paediatricians who want to complete membership exams and progress in career. The postholder gains additional safeguarding experience with seeing cases referred for child protection medicals, preparing medical reports and participating in multiagency monthly peer reviews
We are looking for an enthusiastic Tier 2 paediatrician to become part of our established team in Stockport, supporting the 1 in 10 middle grade/Tier 2 rota including weekends and nights alongside other Senior locally employed doctors and ST3+ Deanery Trainees.

The postholder will gain safeguarding experience through seeing cases referred for child protection medicals, preparing medical reports and participating in multiagency monthly peer reviews.
The Senior Clinical Fellow will support the 1 in 10 middle grade/Tier 2 rota including weekends and nights alongside other Senior locally employed doctors and ST3+ Deanery Trainees.

• If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
