Job overview

PART TIME ROLE - 15 HOURS A WEEK (Monday - Friday - days to be discussed)

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team.

The post holder will be based at Stepping Hill Hospital and will be responsible for contacting patients to offer them the option of transferring to an Independent Sector Provider for continuation of their care.

The post-holder will be required to use computerised systems such as Patient Administration System (PAS), Microsoft Excel, Advantis, and Pathway Monitoring System (PMS).

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a member of the Directorate’s Administration Service ensuring that a high quality and efficient service is provided at all times, which may include giving support and providing cover in other areas as requested.
  • To telephone patients to explain the process and obtain consent for transfer to the independent sector.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate transfer of patient pathways to the independent sector providers using trust information systems.
  • To monitor centralised email inbox to ensure a prompt response to enquires.
  • Answer general telephone enquiries from both staff and patients regarding independent sector transfers.
  • Input, monitor and manage patient information on various IT systems
  • Discharge episodes on PAS once patient has been transferred and update RTT status

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be the main point of contact for all independent sector enquiries across a wide range of specialties.

You will be considerate and understanding to patients who are waiting for surgery and offer transfer to an independent sector provider if appropriate.

You will need a keen eye for detail and ensure that all relevant information is transferred liaising with colleague to resolve any issues.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

 If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £21.90.  This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
