We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Research Delivery Network Northwest's Agile Research Delivery Team (ARDT) supporting the delivery of high-quality health and care research across Greater Manchester and the wider North West region.
The Agile Research Delivery Team works flexibly across multiple health and care settings to support the delivery of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio studies, helping ensure patients and the public have access to cutting-edge research opportunities. These settings will include Hospitals, Primary care sites (including GPs and Dentists), Community settings (like Schools) domiciliary care partners, and residential settings (like Care Homes and Prisons).
In this role, you will support research studies in various clinical specialities and environments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, research staff, and partner organisations. The role involves identifying and recruiting participants, supporting the consent process, assisting with study procedures, and ensuring accurate data collection.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse interested in clinical research, providing experience with various studies while contributing to research that improves patient outcomes and healthcare services.
The role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across different organisations and settings.

The post holder will work as part of the Agile Research Delivery Team to support the delivery of NIHR portfolio studies across Greater Manchester and the North West.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of clinical research studies in accordance with study protocols, regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Identifying and recruiting suitable patients and participants into research studies.
- Supporting the informed consent process in line with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Assisting with research-related procedures including data collection, sample collection and participant follow-up.
- Maintaining accurate research documentation and study records.
- Working collaboratively with research teams, clinical staff and partner organisations to support effective study delivery.
- Supporting participant safety, dignity and confidentiality throughout the research process.
- Contributing to screening, recruitment and retention of study participants.
- Escalating issues or risks relating to study delivery to senior research staff when required.
- Supporting the coordination and organisation of research activities across multiple sites.

- Educated to degree level in science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of delivering clinical research trials, or recent experience of working in a clinical setting or equivalent experience/training.
- Registered Nurse, on relevant part of the professional register (NMC)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Knowledge and Experience

- Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including ICH Good Clinical Practice.
- Knowledge of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle including experience of the set up and delivery of research studies in a health and care setting.

- Knowledge and experience of data interpretation, verification and reporting to local and national centres.
