As we bring together learning and development across Liverpool University Hospitals Group, we are creating a more joined-up, equitable and evidence-led approach to developing our workforce, ensuring colleagues have the skills and capability needed to deliver excellent care now and in the future.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Learning, Development & Skills Facilitator to help turn this ambition into high-quality learning experiences across our hospitals and services.
Working within the People Effectiveness Centre of Expertise, you will design, develop and deliver engaging learning and capability interventions aligned to national requirements, Group priorities and identified workforce needs.
You will work across organisational and professional boundaries, building strong relationships with managers, People colleagues, education teams and subject matter experts.
We are looking for someone who can bring learning to life – creating inclusive, accessible and evidence-based development that builds capability, supports improvement and makes a measurable difference for our people and services.
Main duties of the job
Design and facilitate engaging, inclusive and evidence-based learning for a range of audiences
Use digital, virtual, face-to-face and innovative learning approaches effectively
Translate learning needs, workforce data and organisational priorities into practical development solutions
Support implementation of Group-wide learning priorities across hospitals, services and professional groups
Use data, feedback and evaluation to continuously improve learning and demonstrate impact on capability, behaviour and outcomes
Build strong relationships and work effectively with managers, subject matter experts and colleagues across organisational boundaries
Provide professional advice and guidance on learning, development and skills
Manage multiple priorities with a high degree of autonomy within agreed objectives
Adapt learning solutions to meet different needs while maintaining Group standards and consistency
Share expertise, support colleagues and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement across the LDS team

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Deliver and facilitate learning and development programmes and events across the Group.
Support the implementation of LDS initiatives and programmes in line with agreed priorities and plans.
Assist with the collection and analysis of learning needs information to inform local and Group development activities.
Support the design, development and review of learning materials, resources and digital content.
Evaluate learning interventions and impact using agreed tools and methodologies and provide feedback to the LDS team
Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers regarding learning opportunities, development pathways and available resources.
Support the administration and coordination of coaching, mentoring and development programmes
Facilitate focus groups, workshops and learning events with a range of staff groups
Assist in the promotion and communication of LDS activities across the Group.
Contribute to the monitoring of mandatory and statutory training compliance and support departments to address identified gap.
Maintain accurate records and reports relating to learning and development activity
Participate in quality improvement initiatives relating to learning and workforce development

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Recognised teaching qualification i.e. PGCE, or equivalent demonstrable experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Design and deliver a wide range of learning interventions from different staff groups and professional backgrounds
- Working under own initiative with limited direct supervision
- Experience delivering inclusive interventions
- Experience analysing LDS interventions data to inform decision-making
- Experience facilitating workshops, development of programmes and interventions
- Experience of evaluating interventions and reporting impact and benefit realisation
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of career pathway development
- LDS theory and methodology
- Understanding of design, delivery, evaluation and impact measure methodologies
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of NHS People Plan, NHS management and leadership framework and Liverpool 2030 strategy
- Knowledge of digital transformation
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to influence and build credibility with learners, including dealing with challenging situations in the learning environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present information to large groups
- Ability to produce comprehensive LDS interventions using appropriate digital solutions wherever possible
Desirable criteria
- Skilled in developing collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries
