Are you a proactive finance professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for driving financial performance? Clatterbridge Pharmacy Limited is looking for a dedicated Finance Manager to join our dynamic Finance team.

As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in producing and analysing financial information, supporting budget holders, and contributing to key management decisions. You'll be responsible for preparing monthly variance reports, supporting budget setting and forecasting processes, maintaining budget control systems, and delivering timely and accurate financial insights.

Main duties of the job

Finance Manager: Full time – 40 hours per week (part time options may be available subject to agreement/discussion)

Main Duties:

·         Produce and analyse monthly financial reports and variance analysis

·         Assist with budget setting, forecasting, and internal reporting

·         Support and advise budget holders with financial interpretation and training

·         Maintain and reconcile budgetary control systems

·         Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance staff

·         Prepare ad-hoc reports to support decision-making

·         Work with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure deadlines and audit requirements are met

·         Assist in the development and implementation of improved financial procedures

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) are one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside. Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our sites in Wirral and Aintree. CCC deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies and deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service and are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers.

The successful candidate will require a standard DBS check before employment can commence. Employment is conditional on satisfactory DBS clearance.

Salary information: initial starting point £41,222 per annum pro rata moving to £47,948 per annum pro rata upon one years' service and successful appraisal.

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 4 in Accounting (AAT) or equivalent
  • CIMA or CCAB – studying towards or equivalent experience
  • Word and Excel skills; relevant IT training and experience
Desirable criteria
  • CIMA or CCAB Part-qualified

Knoweldge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of providing accounting services to a large organisation
  • Computer literate including spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable criteria
  • In-depth financial knowledge gained through working in the NHS
  • Knowledge of Oracle integrated financial system
  • Knowledge of NHS VAT requirements
  • Ability to raise debtor’s notifications

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in a finance role
  • Ability to work in multi disciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
  • NHS finance experience
  • Supervisory experience
