Job overview

Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Band 5 Physiotherapist to commence working in our Musculoskeletal outpatients service on 6 month fixed term contract

This will be particularly suited to individuals who are interested in and wish to develop a career in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy working with a supportive, friendly, and very experienced team.

The service works closely with the Wirral University Hospitals Trust and the MCAS service.

You would be based at either Victoria Central or St Catherine’s Health Centres both of which have excellent facilities including use of electronic records, together with working at outlying Wirral health centres or GP surgeries.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Physiotherapists who can work autonomously and independently manage their own caseload, which can include patients with complex needs with additional supervision.

You will receive support from experienced senior therapists and team leaders, regular supervision, training, and other development opportunities contributing to your CPD and career progression. You will be expected to monitor and support the work and development of therapy assistants and students on clinical placements, as well as contributing to the improvement of therapy services.

We can support newly qualified Physiotherapists or those returning to practice through our preceptorship programme and peer support network.

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Physiotherapist with an interest in MSK, having acquired basic skills and experience in respiratory and neurological conditions.
  • Ability to work across community settings

Skills and Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deliver group work and instruct patients
  • Ability to cope with sensitivities of the service and abide by patient confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of professional team
  • Good organisational / prioritisation skills
  • IT literate / Good understanding of clinical systems
