Job overview

The Podiatry Service at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation NHS Trust (WCHC) has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and experienced HCPC registered podiatrist to join our committed and friendly team.

WCHC is an innovative and forward-thinking organisation and as part of a service re-structure, you will work as part of our diabetic foot protection team providing timely interventions to our high-risk diabetic caseload including the assessment and management of complex foot ulceration.

You will also provide education and training sessions to other professionals and take responsibility for the delivery of diabetic foot screening training to practice nurses on a rolling programme.

Main duties of the job

You will have experience of managing high risk diabetic patients, preferably in an MDT setting as well as possessing post graduate studies/qualifications relevant to the role.  You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with GPs, nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals, as well as providing support and clinical supervision to podiatry assistants and students working in the team.

Good IT skills are essential as the role requires working across a range of clinical systems and we will provide you with a structured induction programme, full support and on-going training.

We actively support CPD and personal development for all staff and we will provide opportunities to develop within the role. We have supported staff with various postgraduate courses and events from conferences through to postgraduate level diploma and master’s level courses.

The Podiatry Service is delivered from a number of community clinics and hospital sites as well as nursing homes and domiciliary settings across Wirral, therefore you must have access to your own transport for work purposes.
