Job overview

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen.  We are seeking a Band 4 Child Health Promotion Advisor to join our fantastic team within a Centralised Contact Duty Hub in various locations across Cheshire East, Knowsley, St Helens and Wirral - permanent position.  This position would suit anyone wishing to work agile or remotely.  There are various hours available.

We work closely with our commissioners and partners to deliver the best possible services for the children, young people and families.

If you are an enthusiastic and forward thinking nurse who wants to make a real difference to children and their families then this could be the opportunity you have been looking for, offering a variety of work within our Centralised Duty Contact Hub  that will include delivering aspects of the Healthy Child Programme.

You should possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills together with an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team..  You will be confident in the use of technology and new digital innovations.

Working for our organisation

You will be joining a proactive skill mixed team working together to deliver the Healthy Child Programme .  As part of the 0-19+ / 0-25 Services which with other local statutory, health and voluntary agencies to provide includes Health Visiting and School nursing.    You will be delivering public health advice and person centred packages of care via virtual contacts.   You will be working in partnership with Local Authorities and other stakeholders across Cheshire East, Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley to take the local children’s agenda forward.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Public Health
  • Brief Intervention/Motivational Interviewing trained
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Health and Social Care Foundation Degree

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in a health related post
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of working in the community
  • Experience of integrated working and liaising with other agencies
  • Experience of delivering/facilitating activities to individuals and groups
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues
  • Awareness of public health audits, data collection and report writing
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of delivering health improvement training and advice to individuals and groups

Skills & Attributes

  • Good verbal, non verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use email, internet and word processing software
