Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clerical Officer to join our dynamic administrative team. This role plays a key part in supporting our clinical services and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
The role is based at Aintree Hospital and provides a full comprehensive administrative support to the inpatient and outpatient clinical services in the Diabetes & Endocrinology Department.
Main duties of the job
· To provide quality comprehensive administrative support to clinical services based at the Diabetes and Endocrinology.
· Co-ordination of outpatient clinics including booking, confirmation and scheduling of appointments.
· To provide administrative support to clinical and nurse colleagues in the department to ensure a seamless patient service.
· Co-ordination of clinic sessions ensuring patients access the appropriate clinical teams quickly and effectively within national targets.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Clinic rotas for nurses and consultant diabetic clinics
- Template review of diabetes and Endocrinology clinics to ensure full maximisation of slots
- Utilisation of Diabetes and Endocrinology clinics
- Slot changes to support clinic priority and demand
- Adding referrals to EPRO
- Dr Doctor queries
- Utilisation of AI predictor tool
- Booking ambulances when required
- Arriving patients for appointments on reception on a rota basis
- Diabetes & Enbdocrinology clinic Intouch outcomes
- Clinic cancellations
- Adding of New Referrals and waiting list entries to IPM system for specialised clinics within the Diabetes & Endocrinology centre
- Managing bookings of appointments in time and date order within the national RTT target.
- Front desk point of contact for patients attending the centre
- Dealing with and actioning telephone calls from patients and GPs.
- General admin duties
- Printing blood labels for patients
- Supporting senior management team

- NVQ 3 or equivalent in relevant area
Experience
