Job overview

We are looking to recruit to complement our already excellent experienced team of Band 7 Sisters/Charge Nurses. The Band 7 Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination and delivery of high quality patient care within the ED. 

We provide all staff with educational development through our departmental education team and promote an active coaching environment for all staff.

We also provide a Band 7 development package for new staff within the Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job

Are you an experienced Emergency Department Nurse looking to develop yourself within a senior sister role, do you have experience as a Band 6 Nurse within ED, are you committed to providing excellent patient care within a busy department working within local and national targets, do you have excellent communication skills and good time management skills along with the ability to work in a well established and dynamic team, if so then this may be the job for you.

As a senior clinical leader, the post holder will mange patient flow, support the MDT.  The Band 7 nurse coordinator provides visible leadership, clinical expertise and operational oversight to maintain the standards of emergency nursing care in alignment with national targets, trust policies and professional standards

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post is an internal rotation ensuring senior clinical oversight, coordinating all aspects of patient care, ensuring safe and timely assessment, treatment and discharge/ admission in line with the Emergency Department's KPIs 24/7.

Maintaining high standards of nursing practice, infection prevention and patient safety

Providing support and guide nursing staff, ensuring appropriate clinical decision- making and escalation when required

Promote a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice.
