We are actively recruiting Staff Nurses to the Emergency Department at LUHFT. We believe in excellent patient care and would like to recruit dynamic individuals who believe in our trust values and will ensure that every patient receives gold standard care. The work-load throughout the department is very varied and interesting with no two days being the same.
The successful candidate must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills, and have a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork. We are family friendly and flexible and offer a wide range of long days and short shifts

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Nurse you will be offered a comprehensive development package including a period of supernumerary, training and education and a Preceptorship programme. You will have access to the departmental education team and have the opportunity to develop and progress your career as you work towards the RCN Level 1 and Level 2 competencies. You will have the opportunity to work in all the areas of the Emergency Department.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
- BSc in Nursing (Diploma in Nursing as a minimum)
Desirable criteria
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor Training
- Post registration qualification in relevant specialty
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent clinical nursing experience as a student or as a registered nurse
Desirable criteria
- Experience within relevant clinical setting
- Evidence of maintaining a clinical learning environment
- Evidence of working with learners
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Sound clinical nursing knowledge and a good understanding of nursing issues and clinical governance
- Demonstrates awareness of own limitations
Skills

- Ability to organise workload and delegate tasks appropriately
