Job overview
A secondment opportunity for 9months , 22.5 hours( Tuesday to Thursday) to cover maternity leave has arisen in the Liverpool and Wirral Bowel screening centre for the position of a Deputy lead Specialist screening practitioner.
You must have at least 3 years experience as a Specialist screening practitioner.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the Lead SSP and Programme Manager to support and the Lead admin to lead and train the team of Specialist Screening Practitioners through this period of change. You will have excellent clinical assessment skills to apply, alongside evidence-based decision making to support patients, their carers and relatives taking part in the programme.
At least 3 years experience as a Specialist Screenng Practitioner, experience leading a team, undertaking nurse led clinics; and working within Endoscopy/Colorectal/Gastroenterology or GI Cancer is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the Specialist Screening Practitioners (SSP’s) within the Liverpool and Wirral Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services for both the FIT abnormal, surveillance and Lynch syndrome elements of the programme within the resources available.
The post holder, in liaison with the Lead SSP, will lead on the training and development of the SSPs to ensure the provision of specialist, expert knowledge to clinical colleagues, patients and carers/relatives. The post holder will be able to prioritise their own work load, work independently and as part of a multi- professional team, communicate effectively at all levels and influence change and development of the service.
