Job overview

This is a very exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister to join the team on Major Trauma Ward 

We are looking for a dynamic , highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Multi-disciplinary team. Providing high quality nursing care within the acute setting on Major Trauma Ward

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and dedicated to improving the patients experience.

You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a Multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be 1st Level Nurse's with evidence of demonstrable
experience of working as a Band 5 or previous experience as a Band 6.

Main duties of the job

You be required to demonstrate significant Band 5 experience  We are looking for individuals with leadership potential and effective communication skills and able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment and passionate about excellence in patient care.

Informal visits are encouraged.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Job responsibilities

You will support the ward manager  to lead, provide and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients. You will be supporting the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management , ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met, whilst improving patient outcomes.

You will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk and formulate actions to reduce this risk and ensure patient throughput is effective.

You will display excellent leadership and effective communication skills and able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment and passionate about excellence in patient care.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
  • Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent
  • Post registration qualification in speciality
Desirable criteria
  • 1st level degree

Experience
