Senior Radiology GI Fellow

NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow

Job overview

The Liverpool University NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) was created in 2019, after the successful merger of the Royal and Aintree Hospitals.

The Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a trainee in their final year of training or post CCT, to undertake a 12-month fellowship in gastrointestinal (GI) imaging.

The GI fellow will be exposed to all aspects of gastrointestinal imaging including MR and CT small bowel imaging, MR proctography, CT colonography, hepatic and pancreatic imaging, contrast and endo-anal ultrasound, PET CT, as well as exposure to endoscopic imaging interpretation. The department performs interventional oncology treatments (ablation and TACE in particular) with associated diagnostic work-up and follow-up imaging. This is a diagnostic post and fellows will not have opportunities for intervention. There are specialist regional MDTs for upper and lower GI malignancy, benign and malignant pancreas, inflammatory bowel disease, liver, neuro-endocrine, pelvic floor, complex pelvic cancer, and advanced colorectal cancer. No on-call requirement for this position.

Candidates must hold full GMC registration with a license to practice.  Ideally successful candidates will have completed the final FRCR examination (FRCR 2B), but candidates with equivalent qualifications eg EDiR will be considered. Candidates who are not from majority English speaking countries as defined by the UK Border Agency must provide proof of competency in English.
