This role is to work within a busy and dynamic administrative team within the Aintree theatre department. Aintree has 4 different theatre and surgical forward wait areas with specialities including ENT, Maxilo-facial, trauma, general surgery and vascular.

You will be assigned to a specific theatre area as your home base but the team works dynamically across all theatre areas, cross-covering each other as a cohesive team and working in theatres and surgical forward wait. This is a busy and interesting role with lots of opportunities to learn with a full training package put in place for all successful candidates.

  • The post holder will carry out the duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation of systems for general and personnel administration within the department.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of his / her work and time co­ ordinating his/her activities in order to meet with the demands of the Theatre  areas.
  • It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative commensurate with the role and vital that confidentiality be maintained at all times when dealing with patient information. The post holder will also be required to deal with sensitive patient information.
  • To undertake the duties of the post, it is essential that the post-holder possess a knowledge of a range of clerical procedures, software use and programs.

Main duties of the job

·         Data inputting investigating and correcting anomalies 

·         Run logs and standard reports. 

 Run directorate reports and executive reports for use in the performance review system.

·         Give direction and advice to staff and others in the use of the IT system

·         To provide general office support for the directorate

·         Liaison with other departments across the Trust

·         Liaison with the information department in the development of reports         

·         Reception duties as required including greeting visitors answering phone calls, dealing with general enquiries.
