Qualifications

Essential criteria

Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree or equivalent
Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent

Desirable criteria

Oncology related qualification/diploma Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society and undertaking Faculty Submission
Independent Prescriber
Good Clinical Practice

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria

Good change management skills
Good pharmaceutical knowledge
Knowledge of changing NHS environment & government initiatives
Demonstrable appropriate post qualification hospital experience

Desirable criteria

Evidence of managing a changing situation
Oncology pharmacy practice experience
Knowledge of current & future developments in cancer treatment.

Experience

Experience in supervising/mentoring less experienced members of the pharmacy team

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
