Radiology Service and Development Lead

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and clinically experienced individual to undertake the role of Radiology Service and Development Lead. 

The Radiology Business Unit sits within the Radiation Services Division . The  Radiology Business Unit is based across three sites; Wirral and Liverpool sites support CCC patients and Paddington CDC supporting regional patients. The services across site encompasses Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging , PETCT, digital PET/CT , Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Gamma Camera  and plain film.

The post holder will be part of the Divisional Management Team and will assist Clinical Directors, AHP Director, Director of Physics and Divisional Director.

The postholder will support regional objectives supported by CAMRIN and collaborative working with local and regional partners.

This role provides an opportunity to work at our Liverpool site (as the main base) and across our Wirral and CDC sites.

Main duties of the job

The main duties will include:

  • Lead Radiology Business Unit and CDC (Paddington) to ensure compliance against performance measures (finance, activity, workforce and quality KPI's).
  • Be named Diagnostic Radiographer professional Lead to comply with QSI accreditation.
  • Ensure the Radiology Service complies with required all Radiation Safety Legislation, Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IRMER), Environmental Permitting Regulations and Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR).
  • Manage Business Unit team to ensure resources are utilised optimally and workforce is fit for purpose.
  • To hold responsibility for CCC and CDC budget.
  • Deputise for Divisional Director as and when required.
  • Address activity across CCC sites and CDC to comply with DM01 standards.
  • Provide regular feedback on service performance of the Business Unit to the Divisional meetings.
  • Lead on Business Unit Strategy to ensure the service is forward thinking and provides an oncology focused service.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional Qualification as Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Current HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Qualification to MSc in related subject or management
  • Evidence of current and relevant CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Management qualification/Study

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Up to date knowledge of current technologies in Imaging
  • Knowledge of the national agenda in Imaging
  • Knowledge and understanding of NHS commissioning

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of leading and managing large teams including managing recruitment, performance, attendance and disciplinary issues.
  • Extensive and broad experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Significant experience of multi disciplinary working
  • Experience of workforce development
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of leading major change initiatives
  • Experience of professional working at regional or national level
  • Experience of budget/financial management
  • Experience of developing service strategies
