Pre-Treatment Expert Practitioner
Band 8A
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pre-Treatment Expert Practitioner in CCC. They will work as part of a wider group of Expert Practitioners throughout the radiotherapy department. Expert Practitioners are required to have excellent leadership, communication, organisation and time management skills.
Main duties of the job
* Act as an expert practitioner, providing expert technical advice in specialist technical area
* Responsible for managing day to day workload and working hours across the pre- treatment service.
* Responsible for day to day staff management across the pre-treatment service.
* Responsible for the implementation of policy across the pre- treatment service.
* Responsible for suggesting and implementing service development across the pre-treatment service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Radiotherapy
- HCPC registration as Therapy Radiographer
- Qualification to MSc level in related subject
- Evidence of current and relevant CPD
Desirable criteria
- Management qualification / study
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Up to date knowledge of current technologies in Radiotherapy
- Knowledge of current treatment techniques and developments
- Significant knowledge in a specialist area of Radiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of current Health Service and Oncology specific legislation/plans
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of managing teams including managing recruitment, performance, attendance and disciplinary issues
- Significant and broad experience as a therapeutic radiographer
- Significant experience of multi-disciplinary working
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing and implementing change
- Experience in a large radiotherapy department
- First line human resource management experience
