Job overview
We are excited to offer a rare and rewarding opportunity for a Dietitian to take on the responsibility as the Clinical Lead Dietitian for the leadership and management of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service at the Walton Centre. The role will provide operational, professional and clinical leadership to a dedicated team of Dietitians delivering dietetic care to patients at the Walton Centre.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and innovative Dietitian with a passion to lead and shape the dietetic service at the Walton Centre. This is a senior role requiring strong clinical expertise, operational oversight and strategic leadership. As the Operational and Clinical Lead Dietitian you will provide clinical leadership, strategic operational oversight and advanced clinical dietetic care to patients across the intensive care unit, acute wards and neuro-rehabilitation. You will lead in service development, education and training alongside contribute to strategic planning and ensuring high quality evidence based nutritional care is delivered to patients at the Walton Centre.
Main duties of the job
- · To provide multidisciplinary clinical and operational leadership within the Therapies Service
- · To support the Head of Service in day to day management of the Therapies Service, deputising as appropriate
- · Providing direct line management supervision and support to all clinical and non-clinical staff including registered health care professionals, clinical support workers, apprentices and students in addition to administrative staff
- Maintain a clinical case load appropriate to own clinical profession, demonstrating expert knowledge and skill within area of work, acting as a resource to others within and outside of the profession

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or diploma in relevant HCPC registered professioN
- HCPC registration
- Knowledge of health service management acquired through training and experience to masters or equivalent level
- evidence of commitment to ongoing CPD
Desirable criteria
- Management Qualification
- Member of relevant professional body i.e. CSP, RCOT
- Post graduate qualification/ Masters Degree
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive post registration clinical experience in Neuroscience within relevant profession
- Evidence of successful leadership across a variety of professions and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of budgetary management
- Experience of leading and implementing successful change management processes
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills
- Experience of effective working relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to provide and receive highly complex, highly sensitive and contentious information
- Demonstrable evidence of working across clinical and operational boundaries
Clinical
Essential criteria
- Highly specialised knowledge and experience in the management of neurological conditions across a range of setting
- Experience of working independently as part of a wider clinical MDT at a senior level
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to own practice including evidence of implementing research developments at a service level
- Robust understanding of all aspects of clinical governance including previous experience of managing risk, and improving patient safety/ quality/experience
- Demonstrable evidence of working across clinical and operational boundaries
